The Indian Embassy in Indonesia clarified on Sunday that some comments made by its defense attaché were exaggerated. This statement was in response to remarks made by a Navy captain regarding the Indian Air Force's losses during Operation Sindoor.
In a post on X, the embassy pointed out that Navy Captain Shiv Kumar's comments about Operation Sindoor were "taken out of context" and "misrepresented." "We have come across media reports concerning a presentation given by the Defence Attaché at a seminar. His comments have been quoted out of context, and the media coverage misrepresents the intention and focus of what the speaker presented," the embassy stated. "The presentation highlighted that the Indian Armed Forces operate under civilian political leadership, unlike some neighboring countries. It also clarified that the goal of Operation Sindoor was to target terrorist infrastructure, and the Indian response was intended to be non-escalatory," the statement continued.
