We need to come together in our battle against terrorism to ensure our shared safety and security, said Rajnath Singh during the SCO meeting in China.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, seen on the left, participated in the Defense Ministers’ Meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States in Qingdao, located in eastern China’s Shandong province, on Thursday, June 26, 2025. This marks Mr. Rajnath Singh's first visit to China since Operation Sindoor, as he attends the SCO Defence Ministers’ meeting in Qingdao from June 25 to 27. Pakistan's Defence Minister Khwaja Asif is also set to be part of the discussions. Mr. Singh emphasized the importance of holding accountable those who sponsor, support, and exploit terrorism for their own selfish agendas. He pointed out that some nations use cross-border terrorism as a tool of policy and provide refuge to terrorists. He further stated that there should be no room for double standards when it comes to fighting terrorism. Mr. Singh urged the SCO to speak out against countries that engage in such double standards. He noted that the pattern of the Pahalgam terror attack resembled previous attacks by Lashkar-e-Taiba in India. Mr. Singh reiterated that India maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. “We must ensure that those responsible—be it perpetrators, organizers, financiers, or sponsors—are held accountable. Any act of terrorism is criminal and unjustifiable, no matter the motivation behind it. India remains committed to promoting peace, security, and stability in Afghanistan,” the Defence Minister stated.
